SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS:
1. What’s something small you spent money on recently that brought you a surprising amount of joy? (Coffee, a thrift find, a treat for your kids, etc.)
2. The sermon said, “Money makes great tools but horrible gods.” What does that statement mean to you personally?
3.Which tendency do you relate to more—consumer or hoarder—and why?
4. Jesus says we cannot serve both God and money. What are some signs in everyday life that money might be competing for first place in someone’s heart?
5. When do you tend to feel the most financial anxiety? What does that moment usually reveal about where you’re placing your trust?
6. Matthew 6:33 says to “seek first His kingdom.” What might it look like to seek God first specifically in the area of your finances?
7. Have you ever experienced a time where giving first or being generous surprised you with peace, joy, or provision? Share if you feel comfortable.
8. The sermon described greed as “assuming everything that comes to me is for me.” How can we practically fight that mindset in our daily lives?
