Week 4
SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS:
1. When you meet someone new, “Where are you from?” is often one of the first questions asked. Share with the group: where you’re from, and one way that place or culture has shaped who you are.
2. 1 Peter 2:11 and Philippians 3:20 remind us that Christians are “foreigners” here and citizens of heaven. What does it mean to you that your ultimate home isn’t on this earth?
3. The sermon compared spiritual drift to being carried down the shore by ocean waves. Have you ever felt yourself “drifting” spiritually? What helped you recognize it?
4. The message said “normal” in our world today is brokenness, addiction, anxiety, and empty chasing. Where do you see evidence that “normal” isn’t working—in culture, or maybe in your own life?
5. Romans 12:2 calls us to be transformed by renewing our minds. What’s one thought pattern you’ve noticed in yourself that tends to look more like the world than like heaven?
6. Colossians 3:1–2 says to set our minds on things above. What are some practical ways you could shift your daily focus from earthly things to eternal ones?
7. How does remembering that you are a citizen of heaven change how you view your time, relationships, money, or even struggles?
8. The sermon ended by reminding us of who we are in Christ—masterpiece, ambassador, salt, light. Which of those identities encourages you most right now? Why?
9. If earth is not our true home, what’s one specific step you can take this week to think differently or live differently as a citizen of heaven?
