One Life Church | Plattsmouth, NE | At the Movies | Week 4
SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS
1. If you could go back and redo one non-serious moment in your life (something funny or embarrassing), what would it be?
2. Read Luke 22:54-62. Peter was confident he would never deny Jesus, yet he failed under pressure. What does Peter's story teach us about relying on our own strength?
3. The sermon said, "Failure exposes what confidence was hiding." Have you ever experienced a time when failure revealed something about yourself that you hadn't recognized before? How did God use that experience?
4. Read John 21:15-19. Instead of condemning Peter after his failure, Jesus restored him and recommissioned him. What stands out to you most about the way Jesus interacted with Peter?
5. The sermon said, "Failure may explain part of your story, but it does not get to write the ending." Why do you think it's so easy to let our past mistakes become our identity instead of allowing God to use them as part of our testimony?
6. Read 2 Corinthians 12:9. How have you experienced God's grace or strength during a season when you felt weak or like you had failed?
7. Which of the four main points from the sermon speaks to you the most right now, and why?
- Failure Reveals Our Limits
- Failure Reveals Our Need for Grace
- Failure Is Often Where God Rebuilds Us
- Failure Doesn't Cancel Calling
8. Is there an area of your life where shame, regret, or fear has kept you from believing God can still use you? What would it look like to accept His forgiveness and restoration in that area?
9. What's one practical step you can take this week to stop dwelling on a past failure and instead follow Jesus with confidence in His grace? Be ready to share how it went with the group next week.
