SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS:

1. Think of your favorite prequel movie (Star Wars, The Hobbit, Marvel, etc.). Why do prequels matter? How does understanding the backstory change how you experience the story?

2. Read John 13:34–35. According to Jesus, how should people recognize us as His disciples? What do you think this looks like in real, everyday relationships?

3. The sermon mentioned that our culture celebrates individualism, but the Bible calls us into mutual, shared community. Where do you feel the pull of individualism most strongly in your own life?

4. Read Galatians 6:2. What does it look like to do this in a healthy, mutual way—so that it’s not just one-sided?

5. Read James 1:19. Why is listening so difficult sometimes? How have you felt valued when someone really listened to you?

6. Read Proverbs 17:17. Who in your life has been truly dependable for you? How can you grow in being dependable for others?

7, Read Hebrews 10:24–25. What are some practical ways we can show up for each other consistently, even when it’s inconvenient?

8. Out of the four challenges from the sermon—don’t just take, don’t just talk, don’t just depend, don’t just expect—which one do you personally need to grow in most right now?

9. This week, what’s one specific step of mutuality you can take (giving encouragement, listening deeply, following through, or simply showing up)? Who will you practice it with?
