SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS:
1. What’s the most memorable meal you’ve ever had, and what made it so meaningful?
2. Read Matthew 14:13–21. What stands out to you about Jesus' response to the crowd, especially after just hearing about John the Baptist's death?
3. What do you notice about the disciples' approach to the hungry crowd vs. Jesus' approach? How are their instincts different?
4. Jesus invites the disciples to participate in the miracle by saying, “You give them something to eat.” Why do you think He said that? What do you think He wanted them to understand?
5. In John 13:1–17, what do you think is the significance of Jesus washing the disciples’ feet "knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands"?
6. Compare the feeding of the 5,000 and the foot washing in John 13. What do these stories reveal about Jesus’ definition of power and leadership?
7. When life gets overwhelming or painful, are you more likely to withdraw, avoid, or step in and serve like Jesus? What shapes that response in you?
8. In both stories, Jesus involves others in His acts of love and humility. Where in your life might Jesus be saying, “You give them something to eat” or “Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet”?
9. How does the "way of the cross" challenge or change your understanding of leadership, success, and influence in your everyday life?
10. This week, where is Jesus inviting you to step toward someone with compassion and serve in a humble, sacrificial way? What’s one specific action you can take?
